Scrapbook Contributions from the Class of 1965

Members of the NCHS Class of 1965 are invited to contribute notes and photos for inclusion in the Scrapbook. Tell your classmates about your most memorable experiences, your favorite subjects, your most influential teachers, or where you are now.

When you send a contribution, please let us know if you want it to be anonymous or if we can use your name. We can also show your Northerner 1965 yearbook photo along with your contribution, if you allow it. We will not show any e-mail addresses.

I was asked where I got the Northern Lights page images. They were scanned from the original issues, which had been on my bookshelf between my 1964 and 1965 Northerner yearbooks for the last 50 years. As you might expect, the pages had discolored and deteriorated over that time. But with the help of computer image-manipulation software, it was possible to “renew” the images.

Here’s an example. The original scan is on the left. The software was used to decrease the color saturation and to increase the brightness and contrast, producing the result on the right.

We have just learned that there will be a 50th class reunion! It is scheduled for September 5, 2015, in Indianapolis.

There is also a Facebook page for the NCHS Class of 1965. It contains details on the reunion, along with contributions from many of our classmates. Take a look.
